Dirty legs

Dirty Legs is a playful duet with a running time of one hour. The piece toys with ideas of female friendship, written experiences of women in literature (largely inspired by the reflections from the diemoth bookclub), and the jazz seductress.

Bursting with giggles and filled with moments of discomfort, Dirty Legs toys with its themes and brings the audience along on a viewing of the female experience. The contradictory material creates perspectives on each of the female stereotypes it portrays, and creates room for self-criticism and reflection within the dancers’ characters.

The choreography moves between tenderness and cruelty, with quick changes in-between the different materials. The humorous moments breaks through the stereotypes and show glimpses of the real girls acting out the parts and leaves the audience with a sense of intimacy and understanding of the cultural comment the piece makes.

The project was granted a residency from NORA dans the autumn of 2023 and has in 2024 held workshops and closed in-progress viewings. The premiere is set to early 2025 in Oslo.
